Gravatar Widget Question
-
Could someone please help me with this. I am wondering if there is a way to remove the gravatar profile widget from certain pages (I’d like to keep it on my home page but delete it from my Bio page). Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Widgets have “visibility” settings so we can select which pages they display on. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibility

I responded too soon! My gravatar is off my bio page — but now it has become huge and is at the bottom of my home page instead of smaller in the side rail the way it was originally. How do I fix this? Thanks :)

Hi there,
Are you still having problems with this? I just took a look using Firefox on a Mac and this is what I saw on your home page:
Let me know if you’re still seeing anything different!

I see this on Firefox and Safari at my office. At home on Safari 7.1 I do not see my Gravatar on the side rail. I see it HUGE at the bottom of my post. I took screen shots but not how to post them here.

I just uploaded three shots from the home page. One shows the side rail without the gravatar. The other two show my pic and gravatar bio huge at bottom of post.

Thanks so much! It looks like this happens when the screen width goes below 1025 px. Sidebar 2 jumps down to the bottom of the page when this happens. And once the sidebar is below the content, its width becomes the entire width of the content area, which makes the gravatar image quite large.
Does that clarify things?

The only way you could customize this behavior is using the Custom Design upgrade. If you’re interested in getting that, you can do so through your dashboard at Store.
-
The other option would be to remove the Gravatar widget. Possibly using a combination of an Image Widget and a Text Widget would get you more of the look you’re hoping for?

If I purchase the Custom Design upgrade, how easy will it be to do this? In general I find WordPress to be very cumbersome to work with (as opposed to Wix which I have used to build three sites). I do not mind the extra expense, but it does little good if it just opens another can of worms. I appreciate your candor.

One more things if it helps: When I pull up the site on my Mac desktop at work through Safari (at home I use Safari browser on a Mac laptop), it looks the way it should. My gravatar is not huge at the bottom of the page.

I can give you the CSS code to make this change, so it won’t be very difficult. And if you need further help customizing your site, we have staff and volunteers over in the CSS forum who are always willing to help.

It sounds like there’s a difference in the display ratio of your two computers. Or you possibly have your site zoomed on your laptop. You can reset the zoom in Safari using the keyboard shortcut Cmd + 0.
On your desktop at work, if you drag your browser window so that its skinnier, you’ll see the gravatar image jump to the bottom the same way its displayed on your laptop. You can also see it if you check out the tablet view in the Customizer. To use the tablet view, select the middle icon at the bottom of your screen:
