Can a Gravatar automatically be posted into the profile of a member of a second password protected WordPress site
-
Hi there,
I’m afraid I don’t understand the question.
Can you provide a bit more detail on exactly what you’re trying to do?
-
1. I have a WordPress site with a logo/gravatar.
2. I am a member of an organisation that is also a WordPress site that is password protected – I have a profile on that site with my own password to edit my profile.
A few weeks ago my logo/gravatar (1) appeared on my profile on the second site (2). I didn’t put it there. The site manger said that a gravatar can be grabbed between WordPress sites.
Is that possible despite the password protection or could hacking be involved. -
If your user account on that site uses the same email address as your Gravatar/WordPress.com account, that site will automatically use your Gravatar profile picture. This is how Gravatar and the open source WordPress software is designed to work, and does not indicate that your site or account may have been hacked.

The only way to prevent your Gravatar from being displayed is to use a different email address, either here on Gravatar, or on the service you are connecting to
As long as the emails do not match (between what is in your account and the connecting service) you should not see a Gravatar displayed.
