Grayed Images in WordPress
-
So when I upload an Image to my blog… it appears Grayed as in the colors are dull or the whites are blown out but when you click the image to view in another window, the image appears correctly colored. What is up with this? Is there any way to make the Images I upload look correct/good compared to gray and blown out?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Images resized by the wp uploader lose some color and sharpness. Make copies of your images, use an image editing application to reduce their resolution to 72 and downsize them (for the theme you’re using: to a maximum width of 434px), upload those copies. This way you will save uploading space as well.

There have been some complications with images lately. If you’ve got a 434px wide image in a post now, try removing its width and height indications (visual post editor: click on image, click mountain icon, click Advanced Settings, delete numbers from boxes, click Update, click Update Post).

Just to Clairfy. The Image does need to be downsized. I guess for my theme that is 434 px width. THE RESOLUTION DOES NOT NEED TO BE REDUCED TO 72. After inserting and publishing. Edit the photo. Go into Advanced Settings and delete the numbers from the boxes. Update and there you go.

Just to clarify, too. Changing the resolution wasn’t part of the solution to your problem but an additional suggestion since you had to edit the images anyway; it’s for saving uploading space and loading time.

FYI, anyone uploading images to the web, and thinking that if they upload 1200 dpi images rather than 72 dpi images they will be more sharp, needs to read and understand the following: http://apptools.com/examples/dpi.php .
