Grayed Out Images

  • Unknown's avatar

I have a new install of WordPress through my hosting company.
When I upload or drag and drop (or upload) the image turns gray and does not appear in the library.

    Specifics:
I am using the latest version of WordPress.
Using the default theme (tried 13,14,15) until this gets worked out.
Permalinks are at default. Tried switching but nothing helped.
    Permissions are 755
No plugins installed – deleted the default ones also – have not decided which ones yet.
    Media setting are ok.
Have tried with other downloaded themes but no change.
New host provider and SSL, but my other blog (www.thecreativetablet.com) is ok.
Used Firefox and IE with no change.
    Website: https://www.thecreativetablet.com/studio

I have another WP blog and it is ok. Been using WP for years and this is the first time with this type of problem.
Does anyone have any idea or thoughts on the problem and how to fix?
    Thanks,
    John

  • I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble. However, https://www.thecreativetablet.com/studio is a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, which we really can’t help with.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

WordPress.org has complete documentation and support sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at http://codex.wordpress.org/ and http://wordpress.org/support/

There was no confusion. I just figured since it is WordPress that anyone using the software might have an answer. Was not aware that the two groups would not work together.

    My mistake.

  • In some senses, that is true. But there are some specific differences that make the .org forums a much better option for anyone looking for advice/assistance with a self hosted site.

Best of luck and I hope you get it all sorted out.
