Green circle with white squares in

  • Unknown's avatar

I’ve got a Green Circle with white squares in it above my site name and I don’t know how to get rid of it. It looks like I can change it to display something I would like, but I can’t find where to do that. If I add in a logo in it goes in above the green circle with white squares in. Once, I think, I did have a picture there but now there’s just a green circle with white squares in.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

The Green Circle you refer is your Gravatar icon, you can make the icon go away by going to Customize → Theme Options and remove the Gravatar email address. Please also have a look at the Independent Publisher 2 support guide for more info about your theme:

    https://wordpress.com/theme/independent-publisher-2/

    Hope this helps!

The Gravatar email address is my email address. Why do I need to remove my email address?

As the Independent Publisher 2 support page says:

Independent Publisher 2 was built with the personal blogger in mind, so a Gravatar image can be used in the header. By default, the site owner’s Gravatar is displayed.

If you want to display a different Gravatar, go to Customize → Theme Options and change the Gravatar email address.

If you don’t want to display a Gravatar at all, remove the email address from the field completely.

So if you want to remove your Gravatar icon (I see now you’ve changed it in a logo) from your homepage, you need to remove your Gravatar related email address in the Theme Options of the Customizer (you are removing your email address there for the only purpose of removing the icon from the front page).

    Hope is all clear :)
