grey area?

  Hi! I am writing to you, because I am currently experiencing a certain issue which I am unable to resolve. I have read the Featured Images tutorial three times and I am still unable to help myself out. When you go to my WP site, you can see this grey-ish box/area on the left side. I have no idea what I need to do in order to be able to fill that space? Can I place a picture in there? How do I do that? I really could not find my answer to that! Please, help me out!
