Grey areas paralell to pages

    Hello

How do I make my website fill the screen, so that there are no grey areas on either side of the page?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

It isn’t possible to remove those panels altogether but you could change the grey to a different colour via the Colors & Backgrounds panel of the WordPress.com Customizer.

If you still dislike the space around your content, then perhaps you could consider a different theme that fills up more of the available width by default? Kelly is an example of a theme where the content takes up more of the available width.

You could also consider upgrading to WordPress.com Premium or Business. Both of those plans include the option of adding custom CSS, which you could use to widen the default width of your theme.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that setting a width for the content helps with readability. It would be hard to read the text if it spread out across the whole width of the screen. This article gives a good overview of readability considerations when setting width:

Let me know if that information helps out or if you have any further questions.

    Hello,

Your reply was really helpful. I have changed the colour, which is less contrasting than the grey. Sorry for the delay in responding.
