Grey colouring

Some of the images on the page look grey, like they’ve been hyperlinked and viewed already. Is there a fix for this, as they aren’t links and have loss their resolution.
    thanks

    Hi there
Could you be more specific as to which images on which page(s) give this appearance so we can take a look? Lots of entries there…

As an experiment, try looking at the same images with a different browser that you do not normally use to see if the effect is duplicated and let us know what you find.

    best,
    dave

  • Hi @markryan13!

In addition to the info @dave2swords mentioned, can you describe the effect you’re seeing on the image a bit more?

You’ve mentioned a grayness, and a problem with resolution, which are different :) Is the color off, or is the image blurry (or both?)

Of course, sorry for being vague.

For example: https://lovespent13.wordpress.com/poetry/, some of the images are clear, and some seem washed out. I’m sure it’s something i’m doing, but i cannot figure it out. They seem fine, and bright and ‘un-grey’ on the home page. (https://lovespent13.wordpress.com).

Any help would be great. Thank you.

  • Thanks! That helps, I see exactly what you mean now.

The problem is that those images are all wrapped inside of headings. For example, the words Shattered Spheres is heading. The theme is making those headings a bit lighter by design, the image is wrapped inside that header element so it gets lighter too.

When I look at the HTML of this page, I see a lot of elements that look like they came from the structure the theme uses to organize things. was this content perhaps copy/pasted from the home page of the site?

If so, that can lead to different formatting issues. It’s best to use Plain Text Paste when you copy from a webpage or other application, to leave out any formatting code. :)

At the very least, I’d recommend removing the images from that page and re-adding them so they aren’t caught up in headings – you could also recreate the page by adding the poems without the formatting code and putting the images in at the same time. That way you’d eliminate all of the extra code I’m seeing :)

  • Something else that comes to mind – it looks like you’re putting these poems up as blog posts in your Poetry category.

You could use a Category Page to display all of those posts together, instead of manually moving them to a static page like you’re doing now (unless I’ve getting your process wrong, which is possible!)

Chad, you’re a star. Thank you so much for your help, i thought it might be something about the copy/pasting. I tend to do things the long way around. This is perfect though, and straightforward. I shall get onto this.

Thanks again, have a great day.
