Grey line in header / free site

I have a free site and the grey line in the header issue that prevents my readership clicking the menu links on the homepage. I have seen that you can add customize CSS with code on an upgraded site, but not for a free site…please can you tell me how to get rid of the grey line for a free site.

Hey there,
Sorry for running into this. I can understand how frustrating this must be!
I’ve checked your site, and appears to be a bug with the Cookie & Consents Banner affecting certain themes. This bug has already been reported here https://github.com/Automattic/wp-calypso/issues/60093
When I checked your site, I noticed that scrolling moves the line and allows me to click on the menu, however, I understand this shouldn’t be something that you or the readers have to do to access the menu.
There isn’t any timeline on the solution, so it’s best to keep an eye on the link above for any updates.
Hope this helps!

The grey bar will go away if you remove the Cookies & Consents Banner widget from your site.

Hi there @subjangle, if your site is a free site, the Cookies Banner widget is displayed automatically and can’t be removed. https://wordpress.com/support/widgets/cookie-widget/
I just visited your site at janglepophub.home.blog and after clicking the “Close and Accept” button, the banner went away and didn’t interfere with site navigation. And trying again in a private window, leaving it open also didn’t interfere with site navigation for me in Firefox.
As @emilijamu pointed out, this is a known issue that is being worked on by our Devs. Thanks for your patience.
@amioblogs it’s likely that you forgot to close a TAG in your post, and that has interfered with this thread’s formatting. I’ve flagged this thread for Staff attention. -
@justjennifer Thank you.
@subjangle Looks like you’ll need to wait until the bug is fixed. :-( -
