greyed out comment box

    Regarding case #6796307
    This problem only exists when I attempt to reply on the one site. I tried all the suggestions made in the response you made to Linda but to no avail.
    I have no trouble commenting on any other WordPress blog and am logged in to my own.

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

    Well, that doesn’t give anyone much to go on. On only one blog do I have my comment box grayed out. There is no Gravatar visible. I have no issue on any other blog and that person receives many responses so obviously I am the only one. I can comment on all the other blogs I visit and my blog appears to have no problem with comments. I did all that was suggested, clear cache, sign out and then back in but the problem persists.

    You didn’t say which site had the issue. I had to look at your previous thread to find the address. I visited that image-heavy, slow loading site and clicked on “60 comments” at the bottom of a post. I couldn’t even get the comments to display let alone find a comment box so the issue is with them, not me or you.

    It might have something to do with the comments slug on that site which is different to the one on my site and ends with ?noamp=mobile#comments. Are you using a PC/Laptop or a phone?

    Thanks for the reply. When I first started this and got the suggestions, none of which were helpful, I clicked the box for the forums but there was nothing to indicate what to offer so I had to add that and thought the rest would follow. Sorry that you had to search. For anyone else who might respond to this, the site in question is https://lindaleinen.com/

    I don’t quite understand the “comments slug” but the owner of that blog is much more savvy than I and I will mention it to her. I’ve visited other sites with many comments before mine without an issue. I’ve been commenting on her blog for years without an issue so am surprised that this popped up all of a sudden.

    I am using my desktop when the problem occurs. I hadn’t thought to try my phone or tablet to see if the problem exists there also. I’ll take a look and see.
