Grid Page
-
Good Morning,
I am attempting to set up a new website for my school. For the sports teams I would like to do a grid page of the players and when you click on the picture it directs them to the individual page of that player. Does anyone know how to do this? I appreciate any and all help! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
On certain themes, there is a feature called a Grid Page Template. A static page assigned to this template will display featured image links to all child pages of the page in a grid format. Themes with the Grid Page Template option include the following:
-
The Pique theme also has an optional Grid Page Template. See the Grid Page Template section of the Pique theme guide for instructions.

I really appreciate the help!! Do you possible know how to make the grid ink clickable? The grid is there but it will not allow me to click on it.

Can you provide the address (URL) of a page with the grid page template assigned?

Thanks. I don’t know why the grid items aren’t linking properly, so I’ll tag the topic for staff attention.

You’re welcome. I notice that in the Pique demo, the featured images and titles of the grid items in the grid page “Our Baristas” do not link to the child pages. If this is a design choice, it’s an odd one. The same page is featured on the front page of the demo, and the grid items (featured images and titles) aren’t linked to the child pages there either.

Hi @lutheranhighschoollaverne, that grid page needs a few child pages. Can you go ahead and publish a few pages, one for each player? Give them each a featured image as well. And then, on each page’s page options, be sure to specify “athletics” as the parent page. You can leave the template for each child page as-is (do not make them grids.)

I was hoping to make a few galleries out of the grid. So the homecoming child page would be able to be clickable on the actual page but it won’t let me open it

The “Grid Page” template is designed to showcase child pages.
So you would need child pages for it to work.
If you prefer to have a gallery instead, you can do that, but you would need to pick something other than “grid page” for the template.
