Grid-style Front Page On Motif Shows Pages In Menu Bar As Well

  I am using the Motif theme. I would like to use the grid template for my front page, but when I do, all of the pages featured in the grid are shown in my menu bar. How do I get these pages to only be featured on my front page, and to not appear in my menu? (Down the line I may use this feature, but currently it is making my menu bar too busy)
