Grisaille theme: Bug report: Missing title on single page
-
Hi there!
I would like to report a bug on Grisaille theme. User @cbbeard first reported a curious issue of missing title on single post template, here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/title-not-showing-up-on-post?replies=1
I checked the source code for the single page template here:
https://wpcom-themes.svn.automattic.com/grisaille/single.php and found the bug in the post title’s anchor text:<h1 class="post-title"><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" rel="bookmark" title=" title="<?php echo esc_attr( get_the_title() ); ?>""><?php the_title(); ?></a></h1>In particular, the duplicate title=” title=” and duplicate double-quote at the end causee the anchor title to be rendered incorrectly (what with the misplaced quotes and all). And when a Post title contains the word ‘hidden’, like in @cbbeard’s case, Google Chrome and Firefox interpreted that as a “hidden” attribute and promptly hide the text, which triggered the issue.
A solution will be to delete the first “title=”” part, and then the last double-quote before the closing tag.

Good catch! I’ll file a bug report on this so we can get it fixed up.
Thanks for the report!
