Group blogs and permissions.
-
Hello there, I hope you are well.
I would like to create a group blog on wordpress but cannot find a guide; if I have missed this then please direct me to a link (it may be that I need a strong cup of tea).
I am particularly interested in restricting permissions so that my colleagues may post and manage their content but not alter the layout, or access the advertising controls, or alter other people’s content. Please advise.
Thank you.
Pete.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please refer to this thread as I don’t think you will be content here at WordPress.com > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/affiliates-7?replies=16#post-1264305

If you do decide to remain at WordPress.com these guides will be helpful:
Inviting Contributors, Followers, and Viewers http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/
Note there is a 10 invitations at one point in time limitation as a spammer prevention. There are four roles that you can assign to people who you want to blog with: Administrator, Editor, Author, and Contributor.

This is lovely and clear, thank you. Although I increasingly like the idea of WordAds, these roles would be possible also in an install?

If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

NOTE: The support documentation here for free hosted WordPress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com does not apply to WordPress.org installs. The codex applies to the latter http://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
