Grouping events that are part of a repeating event in the events list
-
Howdy y’all!
First, you guys have already fixed a HUGE thing recently for someone else that also helped us, so THANK YOU!
Here is another small annoyance though :)
For example –
If we have 3 events that each happen for 8 days in a row, on the “events list”, instead of showing the 3 events, it displays every single night of the event. Meaning, you have to scroll through 8 “shows” of the same “event” just to see that there are other events.http://dogstorytheater.com/events-list/
Thanks!

Hey Joe!
Just to be clear, on your Eventbrite, are the events actually setup as separate events or are they listed as one event?
-
Hi,
On our Eventbrite, we set them up as separate events with multiple performances. For Example – we’d create 1 event for “Avenue Q” with perhaps 8 performances. My example in the original message still probably explains the problem best.It seems there are 2 ways to list events on WordPress using the theme.
You’ll see that our home page displays one of them
http://dogstorytheater.com
and then the “Events List” under our “Events” tab
http://dogstorytheater.com/events-list/
is the other way. But both display every single performance of an event. Thanks for your help!

Hey Joe!
Thanks for clarifying! I was able to recreate what you’re experiencing. When I created an event with recurring dates, they were all displayed as separate instances:
I’m happy to pass this along. Just to be sure, you’re hoping for the event to be displayed once with a list of dates underneath. Correct?
-
Cool. Thanks! Yeah.
Obviously on the “Calendar” display it’s great and important to have each date of an event listed but it seems like either in the “Upcoming Events” or “Events List”, it should just list the one main event with a list of dates.
Thanks again!

Thanks Joe! I’ll report this to our theme folks. I’m thinking this might be the intended experience for now, but I agree that it would be cool to display one event with a list of dates instead of multiple events. I’ll keep you posted!

Hey Joe,
I just wanted to report back regarding this feature. As of right now, the kind of view you’re looking for isn’t possible (technological limitations). Sorry!
