Grouping Posts, yet again

  • Unknown's avatar

As I seek to make my blog more interactive, I would like to group my posts (categories) and make them accessible from various pages in my navigation header (menu). I have read a few forums on this, but I just can’t seem to make sense of it. To date, I have created a category and tried to somehow access it from a particular page.

    1. Can someone specify, step-by-step, how to accomplish this? I continue to read “create a custom menu,” but I don’t know what I am creating a custom menu for (a name to place it with) or what should be placed in the menu (pages and categories? pages? categoriess?).

Please visit my site (http://youngurbanmommy.wordpress.com/) to see my primary pages and the posts that correspond to the pages I would like for them to be linked to (FYI: “My promise to keep” is categorized as Body & Spirit)

    Please help!

Panos has a good post on this. Basically you create a custom menu and then put the categories into the custom menu. You can add them as top level items on the menu, or you can put them into a dropdown submenu.

Okay, so I tried it again and to no avail…now I feel just plain, ole’ dumb. I read “Panos'” post over and over, yet I can’t achieve my vision. I know that I am simply missing one step, but I can’t figure it out! I’ve created categories and assigned posts to the categories, but I CAN NOT FOR THE FREE LIFE OF ME figure out how to navigate to categories from the header menu. I would really like to not only group my posts, but access them from an identified static page on the navigation tab. I am at the point where I just want to hire someone to do it because I am stuck!
