Grr….Bluehost to Wordress (again!)
-
Well, I thought everything was great.
Long story short – I’ve read article after article on here and on bluehost, and I am not having luck getting my site to show up.
I followed the instructions on bluehost.com and unlocked my password, etc, and was given the EPP code. However, now I do not know where to place that EPP code! I have never received an email or anything.
I have tried following the instructions on here, but I don’t know much about the DNS and it says it’s correct. All I know is that on bluehost I switched it to point to wordpress servers.
Long story short – originally had missionabspossible.wordpress.com, then bought domain name to missionabspossible.com – then eventually I moved site to bluehost last year…now I am wanting it back on wordpress.com.
Please help, I am quite confused. Frustration! :)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

missionabspossible.com. is mapped to a WordPress.COM blog
The domain name missionabspossible.com. is not registered with WordPress.COM, WordPress.COM is not set up to accept incoming domain name transfers so you will need to keep it registered somewhere else

Thanks for the response. Is this due to the fact that my bluehost account doesnt expire until May? I originally created my blog on WordPress.com and purchased the domain name here, but I believe it expired last spring when I hosted it on bluehost.
Anyway, any next steps or thoughts? Very much regretting ever going to bluehost…should hsve just kept it.

The no ability to transfer a domain name to WordPress.COM has nothing to do with your Blue Host account – domain names can be transferred 60 days after they were initially registered or 60 days after a change of certain ownership information – that is an internet fraud rule
Your domain name seems to be a Fast domains – http://www.whois.com/whois/missionabspossible.com – you renew the registration with them or a reseller if you did not get register the domain name directly with them – you can’t move the domain name registration to WordPress.COM
If you have any old content on Blue Host move it to your blog here (export then import to here) –
make sure you renew your domain mapping and registration – and start blogging again

Now its starting to make sense! I was having trouble understanding the differenc between the hosting and domain registration. I now understand I can pay the registration fee elsewhere but still update snd run my wordpress blog. Seems like my site is up and running. Have new business cards with it on there!
Much appreciated!
