guest blogger

a friend offered to make some posts to my blog, which I welcomed. unaware that there might be a way to officially add him as a contributor, I just gave him my login and password (he’s a trusted friend). he signs his posts so one can see they’re his and not mine. anyway, now, while fumbling around my dashboard looking for something completely different, I see there is a way to add an author, contributor, etc…..(to tell you the truth, I can’t find it now, so I’ll need directions back to it). I tried to enter his email address, but wordpress says it doesn’t know him. does he have to sign up for a blog of his own to be a contributor on mine? what’s the diff between an author, contributor, and whatever else was in there?

I apologize for my never-ending noobness, but I don’t find much of the process intuitive. I confuse posts and pages, managing and designing, etc. Thankfully, I bookmark each support topic that I need, so at least I don’t have to repeat my dumb questions!

He does need a wp.com account. He doesn’t need a blog (there’s an option when you sign up).

    What are the different roles?
