Guide to friends finding a protected site.

  This blog is protected – for just friends and family. Until recently I just sent folks to wordpress.com, gave them my username, password and the password for the proteted blog and …. all fine.

  Now, when when wordpress.com opens they have no way to enter the info above. What’s the advice to give them about how to get at the proected site?

  Hi. It is very unsafe to share your username and password with other people.

  One of the reasons is what you described: people can decide to tick the box labeled “Remember me”, so that they don’t need to enter that information every single time. All it takes is another person accessing your friend’s computer.

  You should ask your friends and family to create a username (not necessarily a blog) and then add each of them (up to 35 for free).
