Guided Transfer

Hello guys! Not sure if this is the right forum to post but here’s a question I have that I have before taking the plunge to move to a WordPress.org site.
– If I opted to use the guided transfer, can I still use my original blog (mitsueki.wordpress.com) to continue blogging while I spend a couple of weeks tinkering up my new site? I am assuming that technically this will be 2 different blogs that I am running at the moment, so.. when I update my wordpress.com site – it won’t sync to my new wordpress.org site yes?

Hi mitsueki,
Your WordPress.com site (and subdomain) are yours forever, free. If you decide to move to a self-hosted WordPress site you can continue to use your WordPress.com site for as long as you’d like.
Your new site will be at it’s own custom domain name, so you will indeed have two sites, one with a custom domain hosted outside of WordPress.com and then your site here at WordPress.com.
The Guided Transfer staff will move your content to your new site for you. Once the content is moved any new posts you make on WordPress.com will need to be exported and imported to your self-hosted site.

Sound good, just as a reminder, the current guided transfer hosts can be found here:
http://get.wp.com/gt-hosting/If you would like to do the transfer yourself you may use any host that supports WordPress.
