guided transfer

  Dear all,

  I am interested in transfering my blog to self-host blog. However I am not skilled enough to do it all by myself. Thus, I would like to know if I pay for a guided transfer would my transfered blog looks exactly the same? I one day I would like to host it somewhere else would that be as easy at copying all the files from the previous host to the next one to have a perfectly similar blog?

  I am also interested to move my wordpress blog to a website on my own web server. Can I just purchase the domain name from WordPress, then install WordPress from wordpress.org?
  Appreciate any instruction.
