Hi, williamhoop. The full instructions for transferring your subscribers are here: Moving Your Subscribers
Once you follow these steps completely, you can post here and let staff know you’re ready for them to complete the move for you:
- On your self-hosted WordPress site, install the Jetpack plugin, connect it to WordPress.com with your WordPress.com username, and make sure the Subscriptions module is activated.
- Optionally, add the Jetpack Subscriptions widget to your sidebar.
- Optionally, on your WordPress.com site from which you’ll want to transfer your followers, post a notice telling your site’s followers that you’ll be moving, and that their subscriptions will be going along with you. This is because, while your email subscribers will continue to receive email notifications of new posts as before, WordPress.com followers will only see new posts in the Reader. They will not receive email updates unless they subscribe to receive those on your new site, which they can do if you’ve added the Subscriptions widget.
- Once your Jetpack is connected and ready to go, and you’ve informed your readers about your upcoming move, contact us and we’ll move your subscribers for you.

Thanks for the reply. Is it possible
They can still see my new posts in reader? Also is there a plugin for people to read my posts on reader from my self hosted site? Can the engineers transfer my subscribers?
-
If you have the Jetpack plugin and subscriptions module activated, as mentioned in that link, then WordPress.com followers will see your posts in the Reader.
Once you’ve completed all the steps listed on Moving Your Subscribers (set up site, install Jetpack, connect Jetpack to wordpress.com ), let us know here and we’ll tag this so that staff can transfer your subscribers for you.

Hi there,
I’m trying to transfer your followers, however it looks like your xmlrpc.php file is either missing or malformed. You can go here:
http://jetpack.me/support/debug/
Where you can enter in your domain name and it will give you some information about the xmlrpc.php file and what to do to correct the issue.

-
I just went and checked, and it looks like your xmlrpc.php file is either still missing or you have a redirect in place on your site which is preventing it from being viewed.
When I go to http://livingwithadhd.me/xmlrpc.php, I get a “coming soon” page which does not let me view anything else. In order for me to continue transferring your subscribers, that file does need to be in place and active.
-
Hi, I took the coming soon page off. I’m not sure what else to do with this xmlrpc file. I’ve turned it on with a plugin and I wouldn’t know where it needs to go.
-
That actually was it! I’ve gone ahead and started the transfer. You should see your followers start to appear within your stats now. As you have quite a few, the process should be completed within 24 hours, at which point you can re-enable your coming soon page!

is it possible I can have them transferred back over to my wordpress blog, I don’t think a self hosted blog is right for me..
-
We can indeed move your followers back. Do you still have the Jetpack plugin installed and is it connected still to WordPress.com? I tried to verify a connection and it failed, so it looks like something isn’t connecting quite right at this time.
-
Hi I do, all I did was change the nameservers back to wordpress.com, nothing else has changed. :)
-
OK, that is a bit of an issue, as our system still uses the domain name to get to WordPress.org site. Without your domain name pointing to it, our system has no frame of reference for how to reach it in order to transfer the followers back.
Whenever is convenient, you’ll need to set your nameservers back to the WordPress.org site so that we can make the transfer, at which point you can point them back to WordPress.com’s again.

Thanks so much for switching them back! I know it sounds funny, but if you could please disconnect and reconnect Jetpack so that we can make sure the connection is working OK, we can get this thing working right and get those followers moved back over.
Thanks for your patience!

And there you have it! Everyone has been moved back to WordPress.com.
You can feel free to move those nameservers back to the WordPress.com ones:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
Sorry for all of that inconvenience once again!

thanks, last question, any idea why none of my posts now show up in the reader page? No one gets any new blogs I write :(
