Guided transfer not available with my blog?

I want to pay you for a guided transfer so I can turn my WordPress.com blog into a WordPress.org commercial site. However, when I go to the dropdown menu to pay you for it, it says “upgrade unavailable” and the URL is grayed out. I don’t understand! Why can’t it work with my blog? http://www.speakingwithsoul.com. (The domain is registered with Register.com, along with an accompanying email address, but they’re not about to help me move everything over!)

Hi Lisa — the Guided Transfer isn’t available for blogs with premium themes, but if you switch your theme to a free theme temporarily, the GT will be available in your Store. Then, once you’ve bought it, you can switch back to Funki.

Hi – I went ahead and changed my site to a free theme. But the drop-down list still has my URL grayed-out. How long does it take for it to “stick”? I’d like to get out of the free theme as soon as possible!

One other question – I don’t know in what order to do things. Do I contact you about transferring it first? Or do I get an account with a hosting site first?

If you visit the Store page within your Dashboard ( https://speakingwithsoul.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php ), it’ll tell you why Guided Transfer isn’t available.
In your case, we have to both switch to a free theme and then deactivate the custom fonts to purchase the transfer.
With purchasing, you can do it in either order, though you may want to wait until hearing back from the GT team after purchase so you can reduce the amount of time you’re paying for hosting before having your site transferred over.
