Guided Transfer Problem
-
Hello! I need some help with my site hosted on wordpress thejourneywithlove.com
When trying to hook up a Zoho email I changed the name servers from:
NS27.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
NS28.DOMAINCONTROL.COMto wordpress hosted ones.
About 10 minutes after I did this, my site was completely messed up, the theme was different, all the info posts ware different. It’s as if it was reverted to its blog version thejourneywithlove.wordpress.com.
Now, I changed the name server back to the DOMAINCONTROL ones before, and it will restore the website temporarily, but then change back to the incorrect blog version about 10 minutes later, and I have no reason why. I also can’t log in to my site via wordpress to edit it without the site being reverted back to the old blog form.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I wanted to add that my site is hosted by WordPress, and I did all this in the WordPress Domain Center.
How can I get my site back to its normal layout and so I can post/edit too? Why does it keep automatically switching back to the blog form?

http://thejourneywithlove.com/ is NOT a free hosted WordPress.com blog. Let’s be clear about that. That site is hosted by GoDaddy.
Do you gave a free hosted WordPress.com blogs and purchase a Guided transfer? http://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/
If you did, then have Staff contacted you by email?
It can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. -
You don’t use Zoho email with /thejourneywithlove.com/ – email should be built into the domain – get help from your host to add the email addresses you need

The domain was bought through Godaddy but then transferred to WordPress. I just logged in to the Godaddy account it was purchased under but the journeywithlove domain is no longer there or listed. I assume it has been deleted from that Godaddy account since we hooked up with WordPress.
We purchased a WordPress Guided Transfer. Staff contacted me by email when we first set it up a year ago, but as I mentioned I was messing with the server yesterday to get Zoho mail to work.

The site seems to be working back to normal now, but I would like some clarification on the email/GoDaddy situation.
We pay for thejourneywithlove.com domain through WordPress. What is the best way to set up email without it getting messed up with the server?
Why is the server set as NS27.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
NS28.DOMAINCONTROL.COM? -
Does this help? Domains » Add Email

Yes, I already followed those instructions.
The problem I had was in order to edit the DNS settings, the nameserver on WordPress has to be on the WordPress server, n1.wordpress etc.
I went in to see, and that’s when I saw my server was currently NS27.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
NS28.DOMAINCONTROL.COM.So I changed it to the WordPress one, the DNS was saved, the email worked. But that’s when my site thejourneywithlove.com got completely messed up and reverted back to its blog form.
Do you see what I’m saying? So if I need to change the server in order to make Zoho mail work, but if I change the server the site gets messed up… what is the correct way of going about this?

Hi there,
You’ll definitely want to keep your nameservers pointed to the ns27 & 28 domaincontrol.com nameservers.
For what you’re trying to do, you’ll want to go into your GoDaddy account and add MX records within there. My recommendation would be to give GoDaddy a call directly as their support should be able to help you through the process.

You’re quite welcome. You may also want to consider transferring the domain registration over to GoDaddy for future ease of administration.
If you’re interested in doing that, you can get more information on how right here:
