Guided Transfer Questions

  Hello! I’m planning on moving my blog to WordPress.org within the next week. I have a question regarding what I need to do beforehand. I need to set up an account with a host correct? Will I email this information afterward?

  Also, I know my template will not transfer, so how do I get a new template for use with WordPress.org?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  yes, I read it. I understand the process of contacting and purchasing hosting etc from BlueHost, Hostgator. However, what about the template? I understand the one I have now doesn’t transfer, but it doesn’t say if I should purchase a different template. I just want to make sure everything is in order when I make the request for the transfer. Thank you!

  Hi r5g2m9,

  You’ll need to switch your template (theme) to a free one at Appearances->Theme in your dashboard. That will open up the Guided Transfer option for you.
