Guided Transfer Refund

    I am trying to transfer my blog theme from WordPress.com to my domain hosted by Aplusnet, where I have many domains registered for years. I paid US$129 for Guided Transfer thinking that it worked for any transfer and as soon as I started the transfer process I found out that Aplusnet is not one of the only three registrars that Guided Transfer works with. I immediately tried to contact WordPress.com asking for a refund and I only get standard replies from several menus listed under Support. WordPress has not incurred in any expenses since I immediately stopped the transfer process. How come I get these different standard replies saying that WordPress does not refund for Guided Transfer? Is this fair?

    Provided you are logged in under the same username account that registered the blog and purchased the upgrades, you ought to be able to request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades

    WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.

    Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

    Just to confirm you would like to cancel/refund Guided Transfer at this time?

    Thank you for your reply. Yes Grace, I would like a refund since I could not use the Guided Transfer Service.

    I have removed the Guided Transfer service from your account, and provided you a full refund. Please note that it may take up to a week for the refund to show up in your bank account.
