Guided transfer – themes

  Hi,

  I am looking at getting a guided transfer for my site over to wordpress.org, I understand I can’t bring my premium theme over. But I was having a look and realised the theme I currently have is available on wordpress.org, so what happens if I re-purchase the theme, will I have to start over, or will the site be as it was?

  Hi there,
  The Guided Transfer doesn’t include installing a theme, so you’ll want to go ahead and get the theme for your self-hosted site and install it. Then the Guided Transfer team can just transfer your content and you’ll have the theme there ready to go. :)

  @Lou Roth,

  As Timethief alluded to, the Guided Transfer does not include a theme installation and setup. You’ll want to setup your theme beforehand. If you purchase and install the MH Magazine theme on your self-hosted site, none of your theme settings will be carried over from WordPress.com. You’ll need to make the adjustments separately on your self-hosted site.
