what exactly is the difference between guided transfer and upgrading to pro?

Guided transfer moves your blog off of wordpress.com and to a self-hosted blog on a third-party hosting service such as bluehost, dreamhost, etc. With a self-hosted site you have a lot more freedom, but you also have a lot more responsibility. You have to do all installations, all upgrades, all backups and all troubleshooting. If something goes wrong, you have to figure it out and fix it. WordPress has made self-hosting a lot easier than it used to be, but it is still more work and requires a higher level of “geek.”
For self-hosted sites, figure an average of between $10 and $25 per month, all things considered and depending on your requirements.
The pro upgrade here gives you a lot of the upgrades in a value bundle, but you still have the same restrictions on plugins, themes, and code etc.

well the thing is i want to have a gallery in my blog but i dont want all the pics on the homepage…is there a way where i can just put 1 pic with a link in the post that takes the visitor to the rest of the pics rather than having them all on my homepage. heres an example of what im trying to do here http://dreaminginbrooklyn.com/archives/category/events-2
