Guided transfers- help with moving subscribers
-
I have managed to transfer my blog http://www.hinduismforchildren.com from wordpress.com to the wordpress.org blog http://www.allabouthinduism.info
It’s all gone well I think except for the moving the subscribers and followers. Can you please help me do it?
Also, the domain name has changed. How will that affect the traffic? Is there anything I can do to not lose the traffic I have?
My old blog is currently online and I want to keep it so till I am sure it’s all gone smoothly.
Many thanks,
AnuradhaThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Sure. Please install the Jetpack plugin and connect it with your wordpress.com account, as per the instructions here: Moving Your Subscribers
When that is complete, let us know here and staff can do the final transfer for you.
To maintain your regular search engine visibility at a new domain name, you might consider a Redirect upgrade from wordpress.com to move old link traffic to the new site.
There are other methods, using .htaccess and plugin redirects that you will find discussions about on the wordpress.org support forums.

Thanks lettergarde. I have installed Jetpack and connected to WordPress.com and notified the readers on my old blog.
Now do I wait for someone to contact me for the final transfer?
Will check out Redirect upgrade now.

I’ve tagged this thread for Staff attention. Someone will do your transfer for you soon. Congrats on your new install!

Jetpack says it’s connected to wordpress.com so I am assuming it was with my wordpress.com account.
