  I am interested in moving my wordpress.com blog to wordpress.org via a guided transfer. What would be required from my end? and should it be scheduled in advance? Thanks

  You can purchase the Guided Transfer from your site’s Store page, and our transfer team will get in touch to schedule the transfer and discuss any other details that need to be done before the transfer takes place. You will also need to purchase hosting from one of our recommended hosts.

  If you purchase the hosting ahead of time, that will speed along the transfer process. One of the first things the transfer team will need to get started is your hosting details.

  Also will the support be via email?

  Yep! Our Guided Transfer team will contact you via email to start the process, and throughout the two-week support period after the transfer you can reply to that email for email support from the team.
