Hi – a steep learning curve with the new editor! I have two comments.
1. The new editor does not seem to enable me to publish a featured Post in the theme which I use – Dryad 2. The Blog is a teaching and learning Blog http://www.apeslcv.wordpress.com and the featured Posts are important for the weekly schedule.
2. When I try to publish a Page in the new ediitor, and try to make it a second level Page (beneath a parent Page), only a few of the parent Pages are offered to me and thus I cannot publish the Page beneath the parent I want. In the case I was working on this morning, parent Page is Media and Interest. I managed to achieve what I needed to do by going through the Customization Menu and re-ordering Pages, but could not achieve this in the nromal way.
It is not a big deal because I have reverted to the Classic editor but maybe my comments will help you pull out bugs from the Gutenberg editor.
Thanks.

Hi there,
1. The new editor does not seem to enable me to publish a featured Post in the theme which I use – Dryad 2. The Blog is a teaching and learning Blog http://www.apeslcv.wordpress.com and the featured Posts are important for the weekly schedule.
Can you please provide some more details on this? Featured posts work by adding a special featured tag to the post, and the block editor does allow one to add tags to a post.
If you’ve been using sticky posts rather than a tag to set featured posts, you can still do that in the block editor as well. In the sidebar click on the Document tab instead of the Block tab, and you’ll see all global settings for the post there, including an option to set a sticky post in the Status and Visibility section.
2. When I try to publish a Page in the new ediitor, and try to make it a second level Page (beneath a parent Page), only a few of the parent Pages are offered to me and thus I cannot publish the Page beneath the parent I want.
This sounds like a known issue we’re already working on, so I’ve added your report there.
However, I also want to note that as you have a custom menu on your site, that setting in the editor makes absolutely no difference on how your site displays. Setting a parent page in the editor only affects the menu if you’re using your theme’s default menu. With a custom menu you will always still have to edit the menu to add the child page there manually as well.

Thanks for follow-up.
Featured Tag
The Featured Tag does not appear in the new Gutenberg editing Tag menu. I can type “featured” into the Tag box and it then appears correctly, but the Post does not publish as a featured Post.Second level Page – beneath a Parent Page
Yes, you are right, I have a customised menu and always need to ‘manually’ bring Pages into the Menu and then re-order them, even when I have added them as Child to Parent Pages in the Page Attributes, editing menu. Nevertheless I have always edited in that way. In the new Gutenberg editing scheme, not all the Parent Pages are shown in the choice box. Maybe I just do not need to bother with the Page Attributes, editing menu on this Blog? Thanks for your time and help.

The Featured Tag does not appear in the new Gutenberg editing Tag menu. I can type “featured” into the Tag box and it then appears correctly, but the Post does not publish as a featured Post.
Can you please give a link to a post you published where you added the featured tag, but the post was not set as featured?
I can see four posts in your posts list with the featured tag added, and all four posts are appearing in the Featured Content slider on your site’s front page, including one published two days ago, https://apeslcv.wordpress.com/2018/11/18/palm-oil-sustainability/
It would help if you can tell me the exact steps you followed so I can try and replicate the issue on my end.
Re the pages, setting child pages in the editor will only have an effect if you’re using a theme with a grid page template, and it affects the page hierarchy in your site’s sitemap, which is used by search engines, so it’s not useless to configure things there. But it doesn’t affect your menu if you have a custom menu.
We’re working on the problem causing not all data to be listed, though.

You are being very thorough and helpful. Thanks.
The Post that I was at first unable to publish as a featured Post is, as you I think you have discerned correctly: https://apeslcv.wordpress.com/2018/11/18/palm-oil-sustainability/. I was able to publish it as a featured Post by reverting to the Classic Editor. In the new Gutenberg editor, I was not being given the <featured> Tag and so typed it in. It seemed to appear correctly in the editing box but then, when I published the Post, the new Post did not appear on the Blog as a featured, banner Post. This may well have been simply a publishing delay, which does sometimes happens with this theme, Dryad 2. But I was perhaps too impatient and so clicked back to the Classic editor, where everything worked out fine.
Thanks for your time. I will give the new editor another try next weekend, when I update all my teaching and learning Blogs.

That sounds likely, yes. Dyad caches the featured content slider, so it can take up to an hour after adding a new post before the slider updates.
If you do run into this again, please comment here without changing anything further. Then we can check if manually flushing the cache causes it to update. If not, at least we’ll then be able to check the post in the broken state, which might give some more clues about what exactly is happening.

Please do, and please let us know if anything else seems broken. WordPress 5.0 launches on the 27th, so there’s regular bug fixes and small changes taking place at the moment and it’s likely to be like that for the next few weeks.

The issue that caused the available parent pages to not all be listed should be fixed now. Can you please take a look and let me know if you’re still seeing any issues there?

OK! I have just transferred a Post to a Page and found all the parent pages now listed in the new Editor. Sorted! Thanks.
I added a new featured (banner) Post to the Blog. The featured Tag still did not appear in the new editing box, so I typed it in. I will now wait to see whether it publishes as a banner Post.
Again – thanks.

Yes, the featured banner post shows correctly, after 30 minutes. So that ‘issue’ was simply impatience on my part! It would be good though, if the featured tag appeared in the editing box.
