    Hi,
    When is Gutenberg becoming active?
    Is it for WordPress.com or WordPress.org or both?
    Please advise.

    Hi there,

    The new block editor is already available on all WordPress.com sites. It can be activated from the banner appearing in WP-Admin or from a notice that will appear if you load the My Sites editor.

    On sites using the open source WordPress software you need to install the Gutenberg plugin to use that editor already, though there you should also see a notice to do that in WP-Admin.

    WordPress 5.0 is set to launch on 27 November, at which point the block editor will become the default editor on both versions of WordPress. On WordPress.com the current editor, henceforth known as the classic editor, will still be available, and on self-hosted installations you can use the Classic Editor Plugin if you don’t wish to use the block editor.
