Gutenberg

As of today, you are forcing me to use Gutenberg: “the CMS for people who can’t figure out a CMS”. I’ve been doing web design since 1998 – I just want to go in and type on this thing, not jump through blocks and hoops and looking for how to insert a dang image. Oh where can I insert my own html?? Gotta go looking for it.

Why would you do this to your long, long, LONG time users? Give us the option to use what we were using prior to today. If super-newbies need Gutenberg, then they can use it but it’s really crappy of you to force the rest of us to. You’ll be inhibiting a LOT of writers.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Staff, moderators and volunteers have repeatedly explained on threads in this forum that the classic editor is still easily available via /wp-admin for users such as yourself who have accounts created before 2020.

Hi there, If you have a specific process you use to write and post your content, why not share that process with us and use this thread to share specific feedback on your block editing experience? Venting is fine, but specific feedback is better.

As I already mentioned in the other user’s thread you posted to, if your sites have been changed to the Block Editor at MySites>Site>Posts, then the Classic Editor is available in WP Admin. https://wordpress.com/support/editors/#classic-editor

I think having two completely different editors that suit two completely different kinds of WordPress.com user is just fine. It was when there were THREE editors that life got complicated.

Totally! It just seems that some users aren’t aware there are two Editors available.

    It’s not the Ablockalypse!
