Gutenberg Appears Automatically; I want Classical Editor Option
-
I am quite happy and productive using the Classical Editor but today, I find I have to see Gutenberg, and there is no option on my screen to switch to the Classical Editor, even when clicking the three dots at top right and selecting settings, the Classical Option does not appear.
Quite frankly, I do not like the so-called option of switching to Business Plan in order to use my editing choice, and I do not find that a satisfactory option or alternative.
Furthermore, with the political and public health stresses we are dealing with today, we don’t need the additional stress of WordPress switching editors without having the choice of working with our preferred editor.
Please advise on how to get rid of Gutenberg and use the Classical Editor WITHOUT having to pay for the so-called BUSINESS PLAN plug in option.
Thank you,
H. Vadney

We have tips for transitioning from the classic editor to blocks https://wordpress.com/support/switching-from-the-classic-to-the-block-editor/ and FAQs: https://wordpress.com/support/replacing-the-older-wordpress-com-editor-with-the-wordpress-block-editor/#frequently-asked-questions
And, if you really want to use something like the classic editor, we recommend sticking with the classic block: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/
For more details, please see https://wordpress.com/blog/2020/08/13/the-classic-editing-experience-is-moving-not-leaving/
We do recommend the new editor though, and we have some extensive documentation available at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/
