Gutenberg editor slideshow block

Is there any way to display image captions in the default Gutenberg “Slideshow” block?
I know in the “classic” editor, this used to happen automatically… For example, as in:

I’ve tried adding identical Captions, Alt Text, and Descriptions to image media, but still no dice.

Problem resolved, for some reason I needed to re-enter captions for some photos, from within the slideshow block. No idea why this fixed it as the captions were already in my media library, maybe somehow during the “convert to blocks” process.
Anyway, it’s fixed, and I’monce again a happy camper.

What happened to the slideshow? The pictures are small now. I am posting for a desktop, but it is showing a phone screen size image?

Yes that does not affect this.
Posts older than a week or two are not affected. I copied the code out of one, to see if there were any clues. When I looked again at that post, the image had shrunk down to the new, small, size. -
