Gutenberg themes

I’m currently looking through the themes listings in my wordpress account to update my site to a theme that is Gutenberg ready, but I’m having trouble discerning which themes that are listed are updated for Gutenberg? What “Feature filter” should I enable to filter out only those themes, or is there not a filter that can find that specific aspect of a theme? Basically I just wanna make sure I’m updating to a new theme that is Gutenberg updated and has the least amount of formatting problems that I’m currently experience with the old (old!) vigilance theme. Thanks!

Filtering for “Block Editor” brings up 19 themes. I know all the new “business” themes Modern Business, Calm Business etc do. To double-check that all the others are definitely designed with the new WordPress Editor in mind look for ” fully supports the new WordPress Editor” in the text : https://wordpress.com/themes?s=block+editor

  • Hi there,

We don’t yet have a filter for themes specifically designed for the block editor, but all our themes should work with the block editor. All of them just won’t display the posts in the editor exactly as it would display in the published version, and there might be a few themes that don’t, for example, support the full-width alignment introduced with the block editor.

But Twenty Nineteen, Business, along with the variants on that theme, as well as our very newest themes launched over the past month are specifically designed for the block editor.

If you just go to https://wordpress.com/themes without clicking anything or typing in the search box, these should all appear at the top, as they’re the most recent themes.
