Hack Attempt on my blog
-
I’m looking at a hack attempt on my moderated blog right now. The blocked comment reads…
URE SITE IS SUSPENDED AND PROSECUTED BY GREATER HACKER ARMY
PAY LOAD ALPHA BY FEDERAL TEAM OF RESPOND BY THE UNITED HACKER ARMY
AND ZRF-C ZR-TC PAY LOAD AThat message is repeated several hundred times with a couple of ones and zeros strings embedded in it.
The IP is from the West Bank, Palestinian territory and appears to be an Israeli ISP.
I am the only admin. I am the only poster. I approve or disprove all comments. This comment is sitting in my spam box, but I have not deleted it yet.
Awaiting response from support regarding who and where to report this.

We need a link to the blog in question beginning with http to provide you with accurate advice.
Sounds like just a spam comment.

The comment isn’t going to be visible because I never let it out of moderation. It looks like this…
===
URE SITE IS SUSPENDED AND PROSECUTED BY GREATER HACKER ARMY
PAY LOAD ALPHA BY FEDERAL TEAM OF RESPOND BY THE UNITED HACKER ARMY
AND ZRF-C ZR-TC PAY LOAD A===
Repeated a hundred or so times, followed by ones n zeros strings, followed by the same message with a different payload.

Spam blocking seems to have worked. I’m still up.

Don’t care about the comment – just wanted to make sure that you were really hosted here. Some days 30% of the people asking for help are not hosted on WordPress.COM.
If you are really concerned you could as the staff to look at your site: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
However WordPress.COM and Akismet strips out bad stuff from the comments that might be harmful code. My best guess is that someone tried to paste some junk into your comment and things were stripped and thus the ones and zeros.
The only “hacked” sites I have seen here have been people getting the password somehow to a site so you do want to be careful how you log in and use a tough password.
You could also use a secure log-in in case you are on an unsecured link: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Good luck

Appears to have been a spamscam with incredibly poor timing and location. Thank you for your time Auxclass.

It’s a classic scare tactic.
Jesus, that’s actually shameful. The Israelis are usually pretty competent at hacking.

How do you recover a deleted (hacked) wordpress blog? I really want it back seeing that we payed $15 on CSS.
-
What’s the URL of the blog? And how many admins are there? And what kind of hack was pulled?
