Hacked?

New blog, not yet gone public. Suddenly, Chinese (?) characters appearing before and after all new links; deleted characters; links seem fine. Stats show visits to pages I have not created. Pages have photo titles. Click on one of those and a page appears that carries that photo plus one or two others. Cannot delete that page. This is different behavior than clicking on a photo on a page and having a larger image appear on a blank page. Can we have been hacked already?!?

WordPress.COM blogs basically never get hacked. Easy passwords can be guessed, but this is probably the most secure platform around. You say the site is not public yet, so you will have to contact staff directly and ask them to have a look since the volunteers here in the forums cannot view your private blog.
Also just as a precaution, change your password and make it a strong one. If you can remember it, it isn’t strong enough. Use upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters such as # and % and ^.

Some people have reported a but like this with new blogs, but I don’t recall what the cause was…perhaps encoding?
