Hello – About a year ago, I had a website called karinasely.com
It got hacked on wordpress, and I was unable to recover anything. I’m now trying to figure out what happened and wondering if I should restart a new website. But I’m afraid of it getting hacked again and losing everything. Can I restore anything back?

Hi there, your site was not hosted with WordPress.com. It was a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with GoDaddy.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two separate entities, we cannot control files or data for sites hosted elsewhere, so have no way of knowing what happened. Okay!
Yesterday, I upgraded my plan to premium using a new domain and then shortly after, canceled the plan along with the domain. I want to get the plan again as well as have my domain back, but for some reason it’s not showing up. How do I get the same domain if I upgrade my plan?

I’ve restored the domain for you and you should see this present via Upgrades > Domains.
In order to set this as the primary domain a paid plan would need to be on the site.

Which domain did you restore? Because I had started a different one called thewilliamsphoto.com

Yes that’s the correct domain, but I still can’t get it. When I go on wordpress and try to upgrade my plan with a free domain, it says that domain is unavailable.

I can see that thewilliamsphoto.com is restored on the site thewilliamsphoto.wordpress.com.
All that’s left is to purchase a paid plan in order to set a custom primary domain.

There are different ways to add a custom email address; we recommend the Professional Email that you can add like this:
