To support the service (and keep free features free), WordPress sometimes runs advertisements. They try hard to make the ads discreet and effective and only run them in limited places. See also #9 on the Terms of Service page.
If you would like to completely eliminate ads from appearing on your blog, wordpress offers the No-Ads Upgrade. See also #9 on the Terms of Service page.

So, in short, you’ve been neither hacked nor spammed: that is standard issue advertising on all WP.com blogs.
There have been some reports of really unsuitable ads, like pornish ads, appearing, and if that happens, just report them to staff via your Dashboard Help button. If it’s just that you don’t like the ads, the NO Ads upgrade is what you want.

raincoaster is referring to the “get Help” link found in the drop-down menu under “Me” on the top navigation bar.
Another way to contact Staff is to use this contact link for Staff the link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ Type “advertising appearing at the end of this post http://virtualizationandstorage.wordpress.com/2011/06/30/vmware-vsphere-vs-citrix-xenserver-cost-calculator/”
After you use the searchbox at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.
