hacked site – contaminated files deleted, meta descrip still hacked descript

  Hi there,

  recently my site (www.appletree.it) got hacked. We found literally hundreds of pages advertising nhl and nfl jerseys and also 2 plugins containing lines of php with the ‘eval’command. Also in the main directory the index file was also contaminated with other code referring to the site from where the jerseys were being advertised.
  We have since deleted or corrected all of these files but unfortunately the meta description of the site still continues to advertise jerseys and not the meta description that it should be (we are an English school in Italy).

  Does anyone have any ideas for what I could do to fix this?

  I’m going to assume you are talking about a standalone install of the WordPress software rather than a site located on the hosted version WordPress.com.

  If that is indeed the case, you need to head over to the support forums on WordPress.org. http://wordpress.org/support/
