Oh no! Tricky situation. I’ve added a
modlooktag to your post to let staff know you need their expertise.Best of luck!

Sorry to hear that, @sjdistrict1! Can you let us know what site or account you’ve lost access to? We’ll help if we can, or point you in the right direction for help if the site isn’t hosted here.
And thank you for flagging us, @neverbenn.

Hi.
I have the same issue. My site is hacked. There were some new registered persons as visitors or users then I think they found a backdoor to change the setting and admind settings. Now I can’t request any new password. I think they changed alao the admin password. There is a way to reset all data and to recover the account? -

Thanks for providing that. Your website appears to be hosted by EasyHost, not WordPress.com – I assume it is (or was) a self-hosted WordPress.org install. In this case I’d recommend contacting your host to see if there’s anything they can do. Worst case they can take the site down for now – since it appears to be hosting spam content.
The WordPress.org forums would also be a good place to check for help, as this forum is meant for sites hosted on WordPress.com
If you are able to get the site back, check out this WordPress.org Codex doc on Security for some best practices you can implement to help keep your site safe – also be sure your admin account isn’t named “admin” or “administrator” as this makes it harder for bad guys to get in – and be sure your WordPress core, plugins, and themes are always updated to their latest versions (auto-update is your friend!).
Best of luck in reclaiming your site!

Glad to hear you were able to get it sorted out – for now, no content is better than malicious content. Hope the rebuilding process isn’t too painful!

Just noting too if you’re managing your own installation, you’ll definitely want to be keeping everything backed up, up-to date, and protected from various forms of attacks. More info here:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Hardening_WordPressJetpack also offers several security features with free accounts, and has backups and scans with paid accounts.
Lastly, if your host can restore backups from their end, you might be able to hire a contractor to help you extract data and media and pull it into a fresh, secure installation.
But these forums pertain to the sites using the hosting and management services here at WordPress.com, so for more help with self-managed installations, head to https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ — good luck!

Hi there! Yes it’s the d1decides.com. I’m VERY beginner at using these websites – it’s for work. I managed to delete some kind of folder that took the site down, but at this point, we’d really just like to delete the whole thing and start fresh if possible. Any way you can assist with that?
Thanks!

@sjdistrict1, I can’t assist with that site because it is not hosted on our servers.
But if you’ll contact your host (Dreamhost) and ask if they can restore a backup, that will likely get everything back for you. Or they can help you make a new installation. Good luck!

Oh, just noting this too:
Our service comes with management and support, and you would not be able to bring down your site by deleting a directory (only by deleting media files; which we warn against.) So if you’d like to start over here, you’d be welcome to:
