hacked wordpress page? pop-ups on Android OS
-
Hi
Today a friend of mine tried to access a page from my site (https://chasingphil.wordpress.com/2017/05/28/solo-diving/) and was greeted with a splash screen that appears to be a phishing attack (from ‘http://premium.android-sales.com’) that indicated she should enter a draw for $4million plus. She was able to access the site after retrying. However, was not able to replicate the issue on a desktop (Windows or OSX) using Chrome or Safari, nor using iOS 10.2
However, when I checked with some sites ‘isithacked’ and one other, some errors appeared (particularly with the iframe).
Although it points to an issue with my friend’s phone, the errors from the online services suggest there may be something wrong. It would be great if you could assist me to confirm that there is or is not a problem with my page, and what to do about it if there is an issue.

There have been a few reports of virus issues with mobile, so I would inform your friend to immediately check that possibility.
I’ve also noted this thread for Staff attention.

Your quick response on this issue is received with gratitude. I’ve noted this to my friend as well.

Hi there,
This most likely comes from your friend’s device, not from your site. What you describe here resembles several known Android viruses/malware apps.
Please ask your friend to run a malware scanning app like Malwarebytes on his phone, though for some of these viruses the only way to remove them is to have the manufacturer or a phone repair shop re-flash the phone completely.
