Hacker posted smiley face on my blog- how to prevent?
-
Hi,
I recently noticed that someone added a tiny smiley-face in the background area of my blog. As hacking goes, that seems pretty benign, but it freaks me out because all I can think of is what else someone could have put on my blog. How do I prevent this from happening?

That’s an indication from WordPress.com that your stats are being recorded.
Every time a visitor views a URL on your blog, the visitor’s web browser loads a small smiley-face image from our stats system. http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/

Not hacker, wordpress.com did so to capture stats and data of visitors: see http://en.support.wordpress.com/smiley-on-your-blog/

This question has been asked and answered zillions of times. A forum search and/or support docs search tuns it up easily. :)

And a little myth, mystique, and mystery about the smiley:

Mark has denied it’s called Angela:

It never was called that. A former moderator called the nameless smiley that after an ex-partner he had and that’s why I avoid a making any reference to it.
