  • Hey there @carolng2022 , your message got caught in spam and we just spotted it, apologies for the delay. I’m hoping you were able to resolve this by now. But just in case:

First, make sure you’ve unchecked “Anyone can Register” as outlined here. Then you can go to Users and delete these. These aren’t so much hackers as spammers, so that should be all that’s necessary.

But if you haven’t been minding security on the site, it may be wise to at least run a scan, and clean up anything that you find. A scan like Jetpack Security can help, or you can work with your host to toughen up security.

Going forward, these forums are primarily for sites that use our free-tier hosting. We’re a little different from the WordPress software itself. This article explains some of the differences; basically, we take care of maintenance, security, backups, and support for the sites we host. You’d be welcome to move your site here if you’d like! And since you’d have a paid account, you’d get direct support. Let us know if you’d like to chat about that!

Or, if you want to keep running your own DIY installation of WordPress, you’ll want to create an account at WordPress.org so you’ll have access to the correct community for your site.

    I hope this helps!
