Hamburger menu not working on mobile site since Gutenberg editor code update.

I have been using the wordpress.com free tier site without issue until December 15th 2019 when I was informed of a Gutenberg editor update to my site I accepted the update as I was unable to ignore it so as to leave everying as is. Since the Gutenberg editor code update my mobile hamburger menu has stopped functioning; I can successfully open the menu while previewing my site as mobile on WordPress.com and via Inspector within chrome but not on any real physical mobile devices.

I am also not able to revert to any revisions of pages prior to December 15th 2019 when I was informed of the update. I have also tried changing themes to see if that world resolve the issue but the issue is with the site not the theme.

As I am on the free tier I have not tampered with any theme related code.

I had a poll on my site provided by the inbuilt CrowdSignal poll via Feedback with a slider but that has been removed; but the issue still remains.

All being well this can be resolved as this is an unexpected annoyance. Thanks for your help and assistance regarding this issue.

  • Hi @theknowledgehounds, thanks for the report. I’ve just opened the site on my Pixel 2 and the menu seems fine — I can open it and tap on items. If that’s not happening for you can you clarify what is happening instead?

We’ll work on the revisioning issue after we’re on the same page with the menu issue.

Hi @supernovia thank you for your reply. I have successfully tested the menu on devices outside of our network and yes everything is working fine the menu is functioning as expected. Devices connected to our wifi be it our website or another site using the same theme the menu is still not working. I have no idea what has happened but at least it is isolated locally.

Regarding the revisioning that is a strange one as the site was created on November 9th and the homepage only has revisions from December 15th.

Thanks for you help and assistance.

That’s odd, it sounds as if something is getting blocked with your internet source.

Remember that the revision history only covers the last 25 revisions, here’s more information about it:

Hi staff-mckluskey, thank you for your reply. I have spoken with our service provider and they have denied that they have changed anything so we will be resolving that soon. Just glad externally access is not affected.

As for the revisions I got the impression that it was unlimited and not limited to 25 revisions. Oh well.

Thank you for the link and to you and @supernovia for your help and assistance.

    Much appreciated.
