Handling image directory on a blog import
-
I am in the process of switching over from my wordpress.org site to a WordPress.com hosted site. I have successfully imported all of my blog posts. I am curious about being able to salvage the images on my blog. All of the images currently work because I still have the hosting and my domain name (jamespoling.com) was still pointing to the my old host.
Once I update the domain name to point to wordpress.com servers will there be a way for me to upload my entire images directory so that the images in my posts will continue to work?
Thanks,
James

When you imported your posts, there should have been an option to import attached media files. If you did that, they should be in your Media Library, and you should be good to go from there.
If not, let us know. We can empty out your blog and you can try the import again with that option checked.
