Harassment from a blog subscriber
-
Hi,
I have read in the forums that subscribers cannot be deleted. However, I have recently encountered someone who is harassing me and signing up with various email addresses to be notified of my posts. Is there any way WP admin can assist? I plan to stop subscribers but this is beginning to get out of hand. I don’t need the individual to know every time I’ve made a post. I have moderated the comments.
Also if I make it private and only invite users that I want to read it, can I also send it to those on Facebook, etc? This seems like a lot of work when all I need to do is boot off three or four email addresses and keep moving.
Additionally, at this time I can’t mark my blog as private because of business reasons.
Please assist! Many thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If your blog is private, then I doubt you can share it or publicize it on Facebook.
Now, I can’t really conceive how simply following one’s blog can be considered as “harrasment”. As long as your blog is public, anyone can subscribe to it, let alone read it.
If, however, the person is contacting you directly, that’s another story.

Thank you for your comment. It’s public. I’m fine with people reading. The issue is him being alerted each time I post.
The issue is he has been commenting – sending the same comment (he’s at 13x now) and has also subscribed to the blog. I assume he’s subscribed so that he can successfully time his harassment. Of course I can block him on twitter each time he creates a new ID. I have also blocked him in the discussion section. However, I would like him deleted as a subscriber. Who wants their cyber bully to be alerted each time they put a post up?
Does this make sense?

We cannot block or delete subscribers from public blogs. Everyone on the internet can view and follow any public blog. That is in fact what the public designation means.
You can change your blog visibility to “private” http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/ Please read this about public blogs that become private blogs > Blog Privacy and Subscribers > http://wpcommaven.wordpress.com/2011/09/05/blog-privacy-and-subscribers/
Note that you have complete control over everything that’s posted to your blog.
