Hard return creates a new box

I want to add to my page a list of items. One normally does a list in Word by typing something then adding a return to jump to the next line. WordPress creates a new box for each line, but I want the list in ONE box, single-spaced.
How do I do this?

Thanks. I don’t want bulleted or numbered lists, the lines are too far apart. I want a single-spaced list of items in one paragraph. Maybe the paragraphs combined to one option will work. I’ll let you know.
Other than that, I like this new block editing. Much easier to use!

OK, that works, but I need to delete the bullets. How do I do that? I need a list like this:

456b
789c -
