Harmonic images blurry
-
Hi,
so this is the new thread dealing with the Harmonic theme and blurry images.
As I pointed out in the other thread, the images I upload as featured / background images appear to get zoomed in and although they are top quality, seem blurry as soon as the are uploaded.Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I had a similar issue – here’s what worked for me.
Create a title image that is 2400px wide by 1400px tall.
The image should display at full width (I’ve tested this on 1920×1080, 1280×800 and on my mobile phone).
However only around 1100 of the height will be visible. Around 100px at the top is hidden behind the nav bar and around 200px at the bottom.
Avoid having any vital content in those areas and you should be good to go!
Hope this helps.

wearesisyphos – why don’t you give theginhouserocks’s tutorial a try and see if that improves things on your site.
I did have a look at the homepage on thosewhofall.wordpress.com and nothing looked “blurry” to me, at a browser window size of 1938 by 1022.
Keep in mind that as Tammie mentioned in the other thread:
There is no ideal ratio as each screen can be different. It simply scales proportionately. I’d say the best one is to find a ratio that works on desktop or whatever device you want as your ‘full image’. From there, the image can scale up or down.

thanx kathrynwp! I think I’ve figured it out now.
can you maybe give me q quick hint on how I can get all the the text boxes (bodies that slide over the featured images) transparent? I did this:
body { background-color: transparent;}
body.page-template-templatesportfolio-page-php, body.post-type-archive-jetpack-portfolio, body[class*=”jetpack-portfolio”].archive { background-color: transparent ;}but now it is white/gray…
thank you!

Are you wanting the background images in the slides, such as on Post-Production Is On to be transparent (no background image) and then the text just scrolls over the main featured image?
-
Hey thesacredpath,
yes, that’s exactly what I want for all the pages and posts: the texts should be on a transparant background, so when you scroll to read, the text scrolls over the featured/background image.
thx!

You know, I’ve been able to get rid of the image, but have not been able to get rid of the black background behind the image. I’m going to check with our theme developers on Tuesday morning.

Ok, the scrolling sections, each with their own background image, are done with javascript, and for it to work, there always has to be a background of some sort. There is no way to make the sections transparent in this case.
Sorry.
